It always pays to be prepared! Book a travel consult with one of our pharmacists before you depart. We consider everything from how long you’ll be travelling to your previous medical history. From there, we make recommendations that will help you stay healthy while you’re away and when you return home. There are certain diseases or illness that require immunization, regardless of whether or not you are travelling. We administer vaccines for mumps, measles, and rubella, tetanus, HPV, and diphtheria, to name a few. We also offer vaccines targeted towards specific demographics such as shingles and chickenpox.
Our ISTM (International Society of Travel Medicine) certified pharmacist at Springborough Pharmasave has traveled to over 50 different countries and has years of experience administering travel vaccines. Did You Know
There are 3 mandatory vaccines for travelling to certain parts of the world. They are, yellow fever, polio and meningitis. During a travel consultation, we can discuss the requirements of the place you are travelling to and any other vaccines you may wish to receive before departing.
Polio is an infection caused by a virus that attacks the nervous system and can paralyze muscles or even cause death.
Yellow fever is a disease caused by a virus that is spread through mosquito bites. Symptoms take 3–6 days to develop and include fever, chills, headache, backache, and muscle aches.
Meningitis is an inflammation of the membranes (meninges) surrounding your brain and spinal cord. The swelling from meningitis typically triggers symptoms such as headache, fever and a stiff neck.
